Well, I can say the decade brought some surprises.
Wife left house and family for rich douchebag. Rich Douchebag was her boss AND her best friends husband.
Even though she left with him she tried to take the kids, using his money for lawers, accuses me of everything you can think of. 40K in attourny fees later, joint legal and physical custody. I see my kids half the time as does she.
First gf after divorce, fell in love. Find out 1 month later she has cancer and they gave her 2 months. Pick her up from chemo weekly, we lay on the bathroom floor with our shirts off (she liked the coolness of the tiles) every so often she would throw up.
I start seeing this weird car in front of GFs house (long driveway, house is out in the boonies) cops inform us it's a newlt released sexual predator guy. We look him up on the Nets, the scary MF lives down the street. I start going over there staying up late...waiting for him. She calls one day at the house alone the pwrs been cut (thats what he did last time) she pushes the red button box they gave her (she had to work with the cops to authorize the stakeout) she takes the gun I gave her and leaves the house quickly. Cops come and find him in the backyard, behind her shed. With a satchel full of harm, bowie knife, ropes, etc.
Cancer is clearing up, crazed guy is re-convicted and sentanced. One month later I go on a 1 week work trip, I come back and she is cold and mean as hell. We break up, I finally get over it. 3 months later we finally talk, shes pregnant with some dudes baby. She slept with him while I was on the trip.
Ex-wife drops kids off at house on an Easter. I have my new GF and a neighbor over as well as a bunch of neighborhood kids. Ex-wife confides in me; she misses me, the house, the friends, she cries we hug it out real quick but I tell her we can't be together but I will help her get on her feet...etc...Her BF (rich douchebag guy) comes into my house uninvited threatens me yells in front of kids and witnesses. They both leave. As I am "sleeping" with my GF at 2am my Ex-wife calls me and pleads with me to take her back, I reitterate the same as before. 10 days later 5 cops come into to my house handcuff and arrest me. This is my first 24 hours in jail.
I get of jail, I'm somewhat of a different person now (it's very traumatizing to be in jail for something you didn't do). There was a BBQ party that weekend that my closest friends were throwing. But one guy (my best friend) is not there. No one has heard from him since the previous Saturday. I call his GF to go check on him, there is an atmosphere of worry betwwen us on the phone. While I am talking to her, she opens the door to his bedroom. My friends think I am over-reacting.."We have to go to his house now" I say. "What did she say", they said. I cant answer because I couldn't understand a word she was saying, but I knew exactly what she was saying. So we leave the BBQ and go there, police tape, ambulance, crying. I speak at his funeral about friendship and being thankful for the people that are in our lives. Coroner lists no cause, he was 32, in good shape and had been dead in his house for at least 3 days. Everything he owned had to be burned because of the smell. I know how he died though.
I meet a new girl she is a bit older but pretty and rich. We go to Mallorca we go to Dublin. She loves me. She gives me 7K to help fight my legal issues. She actually has a safe installed under her bed to keep all of her cash.
I go to jail again, for 24 hours because of my Ex-wife even though I dont ever see her or even know where she lives, I havnt even had a court date yet for the first time I went to jail for Easter.
I break up with the girl who was pretty and rich, can't handle stuff great right now. I pay her back the 7K she lent to me.
Finally get my day in court for the Easter thing. Ex says that I tried to strangle her and I beat my 5 year old daughter. All my witnesses are there and testify. Her "witness" is her cousin who lives 300 miles away and she called her on the phone 6 hours later to tell her "what happened". Judge isn't buying it, I am found guilty of nothing but he also puts me on a 1 year restraining order "just in case". Ex-Wifes high priced attrourny quits on her, his court filied statements; "I find my clients actions repugnant"
That SAME day that I am not convicted of any crimes, my Ex and her D-bag BF has my 10 year old son addmitted to a suicide ward. We can only see him at scheduled times, "Dad, I didn't do anything, please get me out of here" effectively, he is in jail for a week. My daughter and I cry sleeping. I can do nothing but try to comfort them both.
It gets even weirder then that, truth is stranger then fiction.
Long post but there are some morals to this part of the story:
A. Dont think because you are a good person and work hard in life that bad things cant happen. B. You can only control your reactions. It does not matter what people do to you, if they lie on the bible, if they accuse you in court, put you in jail....this is their problem, a true test of a person is thier reactions. C. For guys, make sure your wife has a somewhat decent job. If shes a "homemaker" and she decides that she wants to live like TV show housewives do (i.e. sleeparound) she can leave you at anytime and have a FAT paycheck comming monthly at your expence. D. Marriage is a LEGAL peice of paper, I think the stats show it's really BS. Spawning childern transends that. It's super important for your kids to have a dad. If you have children they will automatically love the heck out of you. It's your job to do your best to love them back and fight for them and assure them you will always be there no matter the circumstances.
